The Mauritius Government declared Eid-ul-Fitr a national festival together with the Eid Milan Party, which takes place every year under the patronage of His Eminence, Maulana Muhammad Ibrahim Khushtar Siddiqui Razvi Qadiri.
The Eid-ul-Fitr prayer was led by His Eminence at 8:30 am this year, followed by the Khutba (sermon), reading of Naat Shareef [eulogy on the beloved Prophet Muhammad (Allah bless him and give him peace)] and doah’s (asking Almighty Allah’s blessings).
Mr. Cassam Uteem, President of the Republic of Mauritius, Hon. Dr. Navin Ramgodam, Prime Minister of Mauritius, Hon. Paul Berenger, Leader of the Opposition, Mr Sunildath Gopaul, the Lord-Mayor of Port Louis were some of the dignitaries [Cabinet Ministers] that attended the Eid Milan Party.
The Lord-Mayor, Mr Sunildath Gopaul expressed his admiration for Islam, which played an eminently positive role in the history of mankind and has inspired many people around the world.
