His Eminence has given us his permission to publish these photograph/s on our web site and disciples are grateful for this special consideration. Please use you your discretion and respect regarding these photographs. Mufti-e-Azam-e-Hind, Maulana Mustapha Raza Khan (radi Allahu anhu) refused to take a photograph of himself and was the first person to go for Hajj without a photograph in his passport. Imam Ahmad Raza also indicated that is was bidat [reprehensible innovation, opposite of Sunna] to hang pictures of Pious men and pay reverence to them.

Just before Alahazrat’s (may Allah be pleased with him) soul departed from this world, he ordered all photographs to be removed from the house. The people present at the bedside thought why the reference to photographs. Seeing their hesitancy, he said remove all cards, envelopes, money, etc and those having photos of them. To understand Imam Ahle Sunnat Ahmad Raza Khan Qadiri's (may Allah be pleased with him) stance regarding photographs, Alahazrat (radi Allahu anhu) was asked the following question, "Is the hair of a dog clean?" and responded by explaining the following:

It is correct that only the saliva of a dog is unclean. One should not keep a dog without having a valid reason for doing so because the Angels of Mercy do not visit that house. It is recorded in an authentic Hadith Shareef that one day the Angel Jibra'il (alaihis salaam) promised the Holy Prophet (sallal laahu alaihi wasallam) to visit him the next day on a specific time. The beloved Prophet of Allah (sallal laahu alaihi wasallam) waited on that day but the Angel Jibra'il (alaihis salaam) did not arrive on the promised time. Rasulullah (sallal laahu alaihi wasallam) left his room and went outside to investigate. He found the Angel standing outside the door and hence asked him the reason for doing so. The Angel Jibra'il (alaihis salaam) replied: "The Angel of Mercy does not enter that home which has a dog or photographs." The beloved Prophet of Allah (sallal laahu lAlaihi wasallam) went inside and searched all the rooms and did not find anything. A puppy then emerged from under the bed. It was removed and then the Angel entered the house.
