Teachings of Alahazrat

To give a vivid account of his teachings, a team of teachers is required as he was skilled in all sciences. For detailed study of his teachings, please study "Talimat-i-A‘lahazrat" written by Hazrat Mawlana Muhammad Meekayeel Ziayee, published from Al-Mujahid Academy, Kanpur. Some of his teachings are as under:

  Love for the Holy Prophet

  Matchless Man

  Gifted Knowledge of the Prophet

  Infinite Knowledge of Allah

  Ilm-e Ghayb [unseen]

  Sajdah before Allah alone

[a] Love for The Holy Prophet

A‘lahazrat has given us a lesson of love for the Holy Prophet (Allah’s Grace and Peace be upon him). It is his teaching of teachings. A‘lahazrat is a by word for the Holy Prophet’s love. He practiced love. He preached love. He admired love. He loved the love. This is why Hazrat Obaidullah Khan ‘Azami calls him "Imam-i-Ishq-o-Muhabbat" (Leader of Love). In the eyes of A‘lahazrat, Iman is the name of love with Holy Prophet (Allah’s Grace and Peace be upon him). Love means utter love, that is, love without any element of disrespect. According to A‘lahazrat, love and disrespect cannot co-exist. A Muslim is not a Muslim unless he loves the Holy Prophet (Allah’s Grace and Peace be upon him) by heart and mind and mind and heart. The more he loves, the more perfect Muslim he happens to be.

[b] Matchless Man

A‘lahazrat has given us a lesson that the Holy Prophet (Allah’s Grace and Peace be upon him) is certainly a man but such a man that there is no man like him. The opponents of A‘lahazrat say that he has denied the man-hood of Holy Prophet (Allah’s Grace and Peace be upon him) altogether. It is wrong and totally wrong. A‘lahazrat has declared in very clear terms that whosoever denies the manhood of Holy Prophet (Allah’s Grace and Peace be upon him) altogether, is Kafir. It is funny that everybody calls his beloved matchless. Then why can’t we call the Mehboob of Allah, that is, Holy Prophet (Allah’s Grace and Peace be upon him) matchless? A‘lahazrat himself writes the Holy Prophet (Allah’s Grace and Peace be upon him) to be a man but a matchless one. He says as translated:

From top to bottom grace of Allah he is
Like him no man, such a man he is.
Qur‘an holds him to be Imam.
And Iman says its soul he is.

[c] Gifted Knowledge of The Holy Prophet

A‘lahazrat has given us a lesson that the knowledge of Holy Prophet (Allah’s Grace and Peace be upon him) was gifted knowledge from Allah. It is wrong to say that A‘lahazrat has said otherwise. A'lahazrat declares: Ilm-i-Zati (Personal knowledge) is a feature of Allah only. For non-Allah, it is strictly impossible and whosoever accepts even an iota of Ilm-i-Zati for non-Allah, he is a Kafir.

[d] Infinite Knowledge of Allah

A‘lahazrat has given us a lesson that the knowledge of Holy Prophet (Allah’s Grace and Peace be upon him) is no match for knowledge of Allah and the knowledge of entire creation in no match for Holy Prophet’s (Allah’s Grace and Peace be upon him) knowledge. He has made it clear in unequivocal terms that the knowledge of the Holy Prophet (Allah’s Grace and Peace be upon him) has no relation or comparison whatsoever with that of Allah, the Most High. Not only this, A‘lahazrat clarifies to the extent that if the knowledge of all Awwaleen (the ancients) to Akhreen is put together, even then this aggregate knowledge can have no such relation with the knowledge Allah which a 1/1 core of a drop may have with a core of oceans because such relation is of finite with finite, where as the knowledge of Allah is infinite. Finite can have no relation with infinite, A‘lahazrat elaborates.

Now after such micro-scanning put forth by A‘lahazrat, can anybody still feel anything wrong about A‘lahazrat. Thanks to A‘lahazrat, even from Mathematical angle, calculators with fail to calculate as to what has been said by A‘lahazrat exactly. How many drops does an ocean suppose to contain? Even taking a core drops only, the figure to be arrived at, as he talks of core oceans would be as under:

This figure though too negligible is not even exact as it is based on mere assumption regarding number of drops in an ocean. The exact figure is incalculable and if it is calculable, then A‘lahazrat says “not to this extent even”. In the nutshell, A‘lahazrat admits that the knowledge of Holy Prophet (Allah’s Grace and Peace be upon him) is nothing before the knowledge of Allah but he does not admit that the knowledge of Holy Prophet (Allah’s Grace and Peace be upon him) is nothing before the knowledge of the Devil as is admitted and propagated by the Deobandi savants. After all, one can acknowledge the knowledge of someone according to one’s own knowledge.

[e] Ilm-i-Ghayb

A‘lahazrat has given us a lesson that the Holy Prophet (Allah’s Grace and Peace be upon him) possessed the knowledge of Ghayb (the unseen) as given by Allah, that is, certain amount of knowledge not total knowledge. Allah bestows the knowledge of unseen (Ilm-i-Ghayb) to the selected ones as clarified in the Holy Qur‘an. Qur‘an says:-"And this messenger is not miserly in telling about the knowledge of the unseen". There are so many verses in the Holy Qur’an, which tell about the knowledge of unseen given to the Holy Prophet (Allah’s Grace and Peace be upon him). Allah was not short of Ilm-i-Ghayb to give it to the Holy Prophet (Allah’s Grace and Peace be upon him) and the Holy Prophet (Allah’s Grace and Peace be upon him) was not short of anything from Allah. How much Allah may have gifted and how Prophet (Allah’s Grace and Peace be upon him) may have got, A‘lahazrat presents a beautiful idea about it. What makes one not gift, A‘lahazrat has solved. He has attributed three reasons to it:

(i) If the donor is not competent to make a gift.

(ii) If the donee is not competent to receive a gift.

(iii) If the donor wishes to preserve it for somebody else, that is, if the donor feels that he would lose what he would gift.

A‘lahazrat goes on to say that as far as gift from Allah to the Holy Prophet (Allah’s Grace and Peace be upon him) is concerned, all these three factors can create no obstruction what so ever. As for the competence to make gift, Allah has the absolute power to gift. Who can check Him from making the gift if He desires? As far as competence of the donee is concerned, ours is the chosen Prophet of Allah. He is Mehboob of Allah. He is Ahmad as well as Muhammad (Allah’s Grace and Peace be upon him). That is to say, he is one who praises Allah most and he is one who is praised most by Allah, the very question of his being incompetent to receive a gift from Him does not arise. As regards the third point, our Prophet is the Last Prophet and, hence, there is no occasion for Allah to preserve Ilm-i-Ghayb for any subsequent Prophet. If a man makes a gift, he loses that much of his possession. But unlike man, Allah never loses anything. Thus, there being no factor at all to obstruct the gift, Allah knows better how much Ilm-i-Ghayb He may have gifted to Holy Prophet (Allah’s Grace and Peace be upon him) or the Holy Prophet (Allah’s Grace and Peace be upon him) knows better how much Ilm-i-Ghayb he may have been gifted. Who has the power to question it? A‘lahazrat has elaborated this point very scholarly in his book Al-Dawla al-Makkiyya fi Madda al-Ghaybiyya written in Arabic at Mecca in 1324/1906. Prof. Dr. Muhammad Hanif Akhtar Fatmi of London University elaborated the views of A'lahazrat on Ilm-i-Ghayb in his book Islamic concept of Knowledge".

 [f] Sajdah before Allah Alone

A‘lahazrat has given us a lesson not to make a sajdah (prostration) before anyone other than Allah. Sajdah before non-Allah is strictly inadmissible in Islam. A‘lahazrat makes it clear that sajdah of worship before non-Allah amounts to Kufr, where as sajdah of respect before non-Allah is inadmissible. A‘lahazrat says that sajdah before a Mazar is Haram. It is wrong to say that according to A‘lahazrat, sajdah before non-Allah is permissible. What to say of sajdah before Mazar, A‘lahazrat does not permit even to kiss it. He advises the people to stand before Mazar at a distance of about yards or so. The stand of A‘lahazrat is clear. What do the people actually do at Mazars, A‘lahazrat is not responsible for that. No savant of the world has ever allowed drinking or gambling to the people but the people do so. Then what to do? As they do, so shall they reap? Savants are supposed to teach the people; they are not supposed to run after the people. A‘lahazrat has not allowed to lay chadar (sheet of cloth) or to light up the candles on the tombs of Tom, Dick and Harry. He has allowed doing so only on the tombs of Aulia and Ulčma with some reasonable restrictions. A‘lahazrat has written a lot against bid‘a (innovations). Please see the followings books and treatise for further details.

1. Al-Zubda al-Zakiyya li Tahrim-i Sajud al-Tahiyya

2. Murawwaj al Naja li khuruj al-Nisa

3. Hadi al-Nas fi Rusum al-A‘ras

4. Jali al-Sawt li Nahi al Da‘wat Imam al-Mawf etc. etc.

A‘lahazrat kindled the torch of sunnah in the sub continents. It is a fact admitted by the scholars and savants of the world. Sunni Islam is the true Islam, true religion and the only religion. The anti Islam lobbies try their best to disintegrate the unity of Ahl-i-Sunnat. Please remember the last word of advice by A'lahazrat feltmen! "You are the simple and innocent sheep of dear Mustafa (Allah’s Grace and Peace be upon him) and walrus are around you. They want you to drag you to Hell with them. Beware of them! Be far from them!" The only targets of the anti Islam lobby are the Sunnis and the Sunni states throughout the World. For the Sunnis it has coined the terms of fundamentalist, Militant, Terrorist etc. etc.

Dr. Muhammad Haroon a newly converted Muslim of UK rightly says: "The real key to the future of Islam is to realize the value of Sunni Islam and restore it. Sunni Islam sets up the rule of Allah alone. This is something infinitely precious. It is something beyond price..... I pray that my readers may come back to Sunni Islam and if they are already Sunni I pray that they work hard to show to the World the beauty of Sunni Islam and work hard to set up the rule of Allah alone. This was the aim of the Prophet (Peace and blessing of Allah be upon him), this was also the aim of such great Sunni Muslims as Imam Ghazali and Imam Ahmad Riza Khan Bareilwi".
