The Traveller on the Path

We are all unique individuals within One Reality, the goal may be the same in the end, if we ever reach it, but our approaches will be different because we each begin from a unique place. Each search will travel a unique Path, the speed of the journey depends on you intention or motive, and the quality of your question. A part of us may not want to really hear the answer, or will only hear what it wants to hear. We sometimes remain with our conditioning and preconceptions, doing the same thing over and over again, just in slightly different ways. Our capacity of knowledge depends upon our degree of emptiness.

Hazrat Sayyiduna Abdul Qadir Jilani (May Almighty Allah be pleased with him) indicates that the traveller on the path to truth must have intelligence, understanding and insight and he is on the Path because there is no place that he wishes to go. His attention is focused principally upon that goal, yet he cannot ignore the importance of the preparation for this voyage. When he prepares, he must take heed not to be fooled by the attraction of appearances, and must not load himself with luggage nor take the stops and stations as his final goal. This is the fundamental on this path, leave all luggage's behind and depend on Almighty Allah, undistracted by the temptations of the stations on the Path. Almighty Allah [Exalted is He] says:

....none is secure from Allah’s scheme except the people who have lost everything [and are in total want]. (Sura Araf, 99)

In a divine tradition Almighty Allah [Invincible and Exalted is He] says:

O Muhammad, give the good news to the sinners that I am All-Forgiving. But tell the ones who are truly Mine and sincere in their wish for Me that I am Most Jealous (of anything that they may wish for besides Me).

The miracles that appear through those close to Almighty Allah and in spiritual stations in which they appear are true. Yet even such people are not safe from Allah’s schemes and His Tests inciting them to sin and sometimes they even granted success when they begin to sin, so they may think that their states belong to them and that the miracles are theirs. It is only the Prophets and their miracles that are free from such tests. It is said that the fear of loosing one’s faith at one’s last breath is the only safeguard that will grant faith at ones last moment.

In the words of our beloved Prophet Muhammad (Allah bless him and give him peace), "All my people will take their last breaths with trust and hope in Allah’s mercy". For Allah’s promises:

My mercy encompasses all things….(Sura Araf, 156) and, "My mercy far surpasses My wrath".

Almighty Allah is Most Compassionate and Most Merciful of the Merciful, and one may certainly depend on that. Yet the traveler on the Path of Truth must fear and escape from Allah’s wrath. For this it is necessary that he present to Him all that he possesses – his very being, his existence – place everything at His feet and take refuge from Him in Him.

O seeker, fall on your knees in front of your Lord! Strip yourself of your material being! Confess and repent for your past errors and wait at the gate of His mercy without anything, in complete want! If you do this, you will certainly receive His grace, His blessings, His enlightenment, His love and compassion; and all your sins and impurities will melt from you. For He is the Most Beneficent, the Most Compassionate and Generous, the Eternal Lord, the All-powerful.

We beg for peace and blessings upon our Master the beloved Prophet Muhammad (Allah bless him and give him peace) and his progeny, companions and followers. All grace and thanks to Allah; we leave all in His hands. Amin!

May Almighty Allah shower blessings on the soul of Hazrat Sayyiduna Abdul Qadir Jilani (may Almighty Allah be pleased with him), and lead all of us into deeper and higher realm of knowledge, so that we may all be raised to the status of those 'closest and dearest to Almighty Allah'.
