Pen Portrait of His Eminence

His Eminence received Ijazat [permission, authority to become a Spiritual Guide and to admit disciples] and Khilafat [an officially appointed successor] from numerous spiritual Masters and Silsilas. The more notably being Hazrat Mufti Ziaudeen Madani, Hujjatul Islam Hazrat Muhammad Hamid Raza Khan and Mufti-e-Aazam Hind Muhammad Mustafa Raza Khan (may Allah be pleased with them). The latest chronological records show that His Eminence has obtained his 5th Khilafat in all Spiritual Orders in 1987 [Qadiriya, Chishtiya, Naqshbandiya, Suharwardiya, Idrusiya, etc] . When approached to speak thereon, His Eminence said that the Masters of Bliss would never proceed with the nomination of anybody as a spiritual representative (Khalifa) until they look behind at their spiritual genealogy and obtains permission from their Masters of Bliss to do so.

The lower self has been subdued

Life has been spent roaming about

In search of a permanent stay

I have gone from door to door

His achievements are by no means small. Many disciples (murids) and well-wishers watched his progress as he has steadily climbed the spiritual ladder with a firmness that is born out of knowledge of Allah and a dignity worthy of a noble man of his caliber. When his Eminence obtained his 1st Khilafat and Ijazat in the Qadiri Razvi Hamidi spiritual line from Hazrat Maulana Muhammad Ibrahim Raza Khan Jilani Miyan [eldest son of Hazrat Hujjatul Islam] in 1376 (1958) in Karachi, the word 'Sufism' was known but among the few enlightened and educated spiritual seekers around the world.

His Eminence was born on sixth Shawwal 1348 (8 March 1930) in West Bengal, India. His noble lineage is traced directly to the first Caliph of Islam; Imam of Imams, Abu Bakr as-Siddiq (Radhiya Allah ta'ala anhu) and he married Sayyida Amatul Qadir. She is Sayyida, a descendant of the Prophet Muhammad (Allah bless him and give him peace); her noble lineage is traced from a 'male' descendant of Kwaja Moinuddin Chishti Ajmeri (may Allah be pleased with him). They have been blessed with three sons, three daughters and thirteen grandchildren who reside in Manchester (UK), the official residence of His Eminence.

Few are aware of his early life, his struggles, trials and tribulations to acquire knowledge both religious and secular. His beloved pious father Muhammad Siddiqui (may Allah be pleased with him) ever since the birth of his son cherished the dream of making his son an Alim (scholar of Islamic theology and Jurisprudence). Although Muhammad Siddiqui passed away as a martyr due to sudden death as a traveler in Bardawan, West Bengal when His Eminence was only six years old, his beloved fathers wish materialized later on, by the grace of Almighty Allah. Afterwards, his uncle, Mahmud Aniff and grandmother nurtured him and provided him with all the necessary education to become an Alim.

He is Hafiz (one who commits the entire Holy Quran to memory) and this memory pertaining to the spiritual order of things, the divine law, which a notebook cannot contain; for it is the memory at this age that lays the foundation for fertile ground. He achieved this coveted blessing of Almighty Allah at the tender age of 13 in 1943 and after completing his English Matriculation he studied and became an accomplished scholar in Arabic, Persian and Urdu. All his theological degrees and diplomas were obtained from Bareilly and Allahabad in India and in Lahore, Pakistan where he received special blessings from Sheikh-ul-Hadith, Mohaddith-e-Aazam of Pakistan, Maulana Sardar Ahmad (may Allah be pleased with him) who also educated and trained him. Later he entered college and universities in the Indian sub-continent leading to receiving the degree of Fazile Darse-Nizame and Fazile Mashriqiat (MA in Oriental Languages).

His traditional education was also acquired at Darul Uloom Manzare Islam and Darul Uloom Mazhare Islam in Bareilly (India). After completing his studies of Hadith at Jaamia Razvia Mazhare Islam, in Faislabad, he obtained his qualification. This highly esteemed mystic was taught and accepted as a student of honor by leading and distinguished personalities such as:

  1. Hujjatul Islam Hazrat Muhammad Hamid Raza Khan,

  2. Mufti-e-Azam Hind Muhammad Mustafa Raza Khan,

  3. Mufassire Quran Hazrat Muhammad Ibrahim Raza Khan (Jilani-Miyan),

  4. Muhaddith-e-Aazam of Pakistan Hazrat Muhammad Sardar Ahmed Qadiri Razvi,

  5. Sheikh-ul-Hadith Hazrat Taqaddus Ali Khan Qadiri Razvi and

  6. Adeebe Shaheer Hazrat Shamsul Haq Shams.

All Masters are excellent pupils. Difficulty of the path is always what comes from us. People don’t want to be pupils; they all want to be teachers. Greatness and perfection of the great Masters who have come from time to time in this world was in being pupils. The greater the Master, the better the pupil he was.

Although His Eminence has Khilafat in all Spiritual Sufi orders, he initiates his disciples into the exalted Qadiri Razvi silsila and has been given authority and officially appointed successor in this Path to guide, enlighten and teach followers the true essence of Islam. He is an accomplished Poet, orator, writer, philosopher, social worker, councilor and an author of a number of books. Most human beings strive for fame and name and he humbly declares he has no thirst for fame and name. However he acknowledges that he has received a great 'treasure' from Almighty Allah through the mediation of the beloved Prophet Muhammad (Allah bless him and give him peace), and through the Noble Chain of the Sultan of Saints, Sayyiduna Sheikh Abdul Qadir Jilani (may Allah be pleased with him) and Imam Ahmad Raza Khan (may Allah be pleased with him).

Blessed be Mustafa, Mercy for mankind, Allah's light, the right way to find. Blessed be the highest of the high, the brightest star of Prophecy's sky.
