Some Innovations

The Imam has communicated a message in every field of life and obligations, such as religion and belief, education, economics, rational sciences, sociology, etc. He struggled hard to cleanse the Muslim society from the innovations, impermissible and condemned by Shariah. For example:

01. Separating the Tariqat [the Method] from Shariah.

02. Women's unveiled [be-pardah] presence before Pirs and Faqirs.

03. Women's visiting of the graves and tombs.

04. Adopting resemblance with Kufar and Mushrakin [infidels and pagans] in every form of lifestyle.

05. Participating in the non-Muslim religious festivals.

06. Making the Ta'azias [models of the tombs of Imam Hasan and Imam Husain], andcarrying them out in the processions,

     and seeing Muharrem processions.

07. Participating in the gatherings arranged for breast-beating and mourning.

08. Hearing Qawwali [a small troupe of singers who sing for the mystics/Sufis], with musical instruments.

09. Accepting the remuneration for speeches [ that is, wa'az].

10. Accepting the remuneration [the ujrat] for reciting the Holy Quran [the Quran-khuwani].

11. Hanging the pictures of the pious men and pay reverence to them.

12. Walking with shoes on the feet in the premises of the graveyard, and placing the feet on the graves.

13. Building unreal and fictitious graves for cheating and exploiting the pilgrims.

14. Circumambulating the graves [the Tawaf as done during the Hajj at the Kaaba Sharif].

15. Prostrating [the sajda] at the graves.

16. Burning of incense and scented sticks [agarbatti and loban].

17. Gathering and feasting at the house of the deceased person [the mai'yat].

18. Demanding the Jahez [dowry] from the brides parents/guardians.

19. Seeking augury [the fa'al] from the Quran.

20. Shaving of the beard and

21. Wearing clothes of the English/European style and fashion.
